Fire Prevention |

|
Hello, The recent spell of hot, dry weather has resulted in an exceptionally long period without significant rainfall. As many of you will have noticed at the Great Lines Heritage Park, the ground is extremely dry and vegetation has become tinder dry, creating the perfect conditions for fires to start and spread quickly. The current fire severity level for Gillingham is rated as Very High. We would therefore ask everyone to take extra care when visiting the park and surrounding areas. In particular: By taking these simple precautions, we can all help protect this valuable community space and reduce the risk of fire. Working alongside Kent Fire and Rescue Service, we encourage you to review their fire prevention advice by following the link below.
